Destination Las Vegas: More Than Just Gambling

What can be said about Las Vegas that hasn’t been said? The city is larger than life and visitors have no choice but to get sucked into the “Drama” that is Las Vegas.

In the city, everything takes on a life of its own; the hotels in Las Vegas for example are often mega structures that offer guests just as much in the way of attractions and activities as it does in its rooms. The MGM Grand is a perfect example, of the over the top expectations that have become the norm, as there is an actual Lion Habitat right on the floor of the Casino. The Stratosphere Hotel has several rides on the top of the hotel, some 900 feet above the ground, and Circus Cirus Hotel has an entire theme park in the hotel

Venturing away from the hotels, visitors of Las Vegas may find themselves lured to Madame Tussauds Las Vegas wax museum. This world renowned museum is full of life-size wax replicas of some of the biggest celebrities and other figures in the world like Barack Obama and Lady Gaga. The Dolphin Habitat behind the Mirage Hotel, visitors can become a trainer for the day, literally diving with the dolphins.

Great places to eat are also a commodity in Las Vegas, as some of the best places in the world have found a home in the city. Chef’s Joel Robuchon, Tom Colicchio, and Emeril Lagasse represent a handful of the world-renowned chefs that have fine dining restaurants in the city. Just as there are many fine dining opportunities, delicious casual options are plentiful as well. Pink’s Hot Dogs has the “world’s best chilli dogs” and Fatburger is “the best burger in Las Vegas”.

Nightlife also can not be forgotten as it too, aside from gambling is one of the major draws for many people. Most of the hotels in Las Vegas along the strip have a nightclub or two that are almost always riddled with celebrities and others looking to party the night away. Granted the drinks can sometimes be over-priced, hardcore party goers will love the fact that these clubs tend to stay open until the wee hours of the morning.

Other must see things to experience in Las Vegas includes visiting the fountains at the Bellagio, exploring the Eiffel Tower at the Paris Hotel, diving in at the pool party at Planet Hollywood, or enjoy the show at Freemont Street.

Las Vegas is a vacationers dream as there is much to do for those both young and old. Even with proper planning, there is hardly enough time in one vacation let alone in one lifetime to experience everything there is in the city. Nevertheless, whether visiting for a few days or a few weeks, a Las Vegas vacation will be one that will be full of many wonderful memories that will be hard to surpass.
